Iranian Railways Denies Suspension of Rail Transport on Routes Leading to Iran

Iranian Railways Reaffirms Uninterrupted Operations at All Rail Border Crossings; Transport Corridor Development Remains a Priority

According to the Lasting Peace Think Tank, an organization strategically active in the transportation and logistics sector, the Public Relations Department of the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI) has issued an official statement denying reports published by certain foreign media outlets regarding the suspension of rail transport operations along some routes leading to Iran. The statement confirms that the country’s railway network continues to operate normally at all border crossings.

According to the RAI Public Relations Department, the acceptance and dispatch of freight trains at all railway border crossings are proceeding as usual, without any disruption to operations.

The Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran further announced that plans to expand rail transportation along these routes are being actively pursued. These initiatives remain on the agenda in both international diplomacy and the development of logistics and railway infrastructure.

This official clarification comes amid reports circulated in recent days suggesting restrictions or the suspension of railway operations on routes connecting to Iran. According to RAI, these reports are unfounded, and cross-border railway operations continue without interruption.

In its statement, the RAI Public Relations Department also urged media organizations and the public to obtain information regarding railway transportation from official and authorized domestic sources and to refrain from relying on reports published by unofficial media outlets.

The Lasting Peace Think Tank, as an organization actively engaged in the strategic transportation and logistics sector, continues to monitor developments involving railway corridors, transit routes, and the integration of Iran’s transportation network with neighboring countries, with particular emphasis on the strategic and economic dimensions of these developments.
